..::United Forces Tournament::..
The annual FLW United Forces Tournament first saw mainstream exposure in the summer of 2008 on the PWA's weekly Rampage program, with its finals taking place at the annual PWA Summer Sizzler event. The UFT is a random draw tournament, taking all 16 participants from promotions all over the world and randomly pairing them together into 8 teams. These 8 teams then compete in a tournament to crown the annual UFT Champions, with the winning team taking home two 6-foot trophies custom built for that year's tournament and $50,000 to split between themselves.
The rules of a United Forces match are as follows:
..::Overall Tournament Rules::..
-All matches are elimination-style, meaning both members of the losing team must be either made to submit, knocked out, or pinned in order for there to be a winner.
-Each match MUST have a winner!
-The standard rules of tag team wrestling are STRICTLY ENFORCED during the ITP, but all are thrown out the window once the TP begins. This ruling may seem as thought it favors brawlers, but it does not, in fact, favor any one particular style.
..::First Round Rules::..
-All matches have a 20-minute time limit from bell to bell.
-There is an ITP of 5 minutes, beginning at the first bell to start the match.
..::Semi-Final Round Rules::..
-All matches have a 30-minute time limit from bell to bell.
-There is an ITP of 10 minutes, beginning at the first bell to start the match.
..::Final Round Rules::..
-All matches have NO time limit.
-There is an ITP of 10 minutes, beginning at the first bell to start the match.
..::Second Wind Bracket::..
New to the United Forces Tournament in 2011 is the Second Wind Bracket, a means of allowing the losing teams of the first round matches to continue in the tournament towards claiming the Second Wind Bracket prize of a pair of silver medals and $30,000 to split between themselves.
..::Second Wind Bracket Rules::..
-First round Second Wind Bracket matches have a 20-minute time limit from bell to bell, and an ITP of 5 minutes beginning at the first bell to start the match.
-Semi-Final Round matches of the Second Wind Bracket have a 30-minute time limit from bell to bell, and an ITP of 10 minutes beginning at the first bell to start the match.
-Final Round matches of the Second Wind Bracket have no time limit from bell to bell, and an ITP of 10 minutes beginning at the first bell to start the match.
..::Third Strike Scramble::..
Also new to the UFT in the year 2011 is the Third Strike Scramble, which is a multi-person Ladder Match consisting of the losers of the Second Wind Bracket's opening and semi-final rounds. It's every competitor for themself as they struggle to be the first to ascend to the top of a 15-foot ladder and pull down a briefcase filled with $5,000.
..::Third Strike Scramble Rules::..
-There is no time limit.
-The match begins once the first two competitors enter the ring and the bell sounds.
-Every 90 seconds onward, a new competitor is brought into the match.
-Once everybody has entered, the match becomes a full-on Ladder Match, with the briefcase containing $5,000 lowering from the ceiling. The first competitor in the contest to climb a ladder and retrieve it wins.
..::Proposed Timeline::..
Every tournament has its own little snags and speedbumps that could have been easily avoided with the proper planning. Here is the basic rundown of how the UFT should go, event by event:
Ideally, this will take two months to complete. Each event will also be featuring backstage segments, in-ring interviews, and other assorted means of padding things out. Event 4, the UFT finale, will take place at Boston University's Agganis Arena and also include featured matches from the PWA, Victory Wrestling, Rebel Pro, the BWF, and/or SHOOT Project!

The rules of a United Forces match are as follows:
- Each match is contested under elimination rules, meaning both members of the opposing team must be defeated, and has a unique twist to it: the Initial Tag Period (ITP) and the Tornado Period (TP).
- The ITP goes by much stricter rulings than regular FLW bouts, seeing all standard rules of the ring (a 5-count for illegal holds, no weapon usages, a strict 20-count for any action outside of the ring, etc.) enforced heavily, requires tags to be made between partners in order for one to legally become involved in the action (a tag is made when the partner inside of the ring makes open-hand contact with their partner on the ring apron while the latter has a hold of the 2-foot tag rope tied to the top turnbuckle), and can range from a solid 5 minutes (for any bout with a 10-15 minute time limit) to a solid 10 minutes (for any bout with a longer time limit).
- The TP, however, sees all rules thrown out the window as the match no longer has disqualifications or count-out's, allows both members of the team to be in the ring at the same time without any tags, and sees the referee as nothing more than one who counts the pinfalls, acknowledges the knock outs, or registers the submissions (which MUST occur in the ring).
- IMPORTANT NOTE: Eliminations can occur in either the ITP or the TP, not just the TP.
