..::RULES::..
Every fed has them. Read these before you apply for a roster spot or in case you have any questions about what you can and cannot do. The rules may change over time, but fear not: I will, more often than not, make an announcement on the OOC board, or via mass PM, that a change in the rules has been made.
To ease these out, there are OOC rules and Kayfabe rules. OOC rules, obviously, are for the conduct overall of FLW and all who choose to be a part of it, whereas the Kayfabe rules explain how the world of FLW and all affiliated promotions work.
..::OOC::..
1} Common Sense
Don't troll, don't flame, and don't be a dick. A fed is only ever as good as its OOC community, so don't be a complete jackass to everybody. If somebody posts something that you find offensive? Come directly to me about it and I will let them know. If you continuously post things that the rest of the community finds offensive? You'll be gone. Everybody will get chances and opportunities to right any wrongs they may have inflicted, but those who would prefer to act as though they are above any and all rulings of the community will be outright banned.
2} Deadline Adherence
Deadlines are for matches, on-card promos, RPs, and match strategies. If you choose not to have your character cut a promo? That's fine. Not every professional wrestler in real life cuts a promo or two for every card they're booked on, some even refusing to cut promo's due to their character being the silent monster or just one who doesn't speak. However, if you say you're going to write a match? Then please do so. If you fail to do so then it will reflect poorly on you in the future and may affect your character's standing in the fed (and your team's standing in the UFT) if you drop the proverbial ball. Strategies and on-card segments are not required but are extremely recommended as they aid both the match writers and the flow of the show. In the end, of course, you're only hurting yourself if you choose not to participate fully. Deadlines will be adhered to within reason (posting an RP 5 minutes after the deadline will be allowed, but hours later will not), but keep in mind that each event is two weeks apart for a reason. We all have real lives, be it school or jobs or familial obligations, and two weeks is enough to produce the quality material that you are expected to.
3} Realism
We've all been in feds where something completely unrealistic has happened. One character swears that he is from the future, one is part jackyl, one is a government agent whose half-brother tried to murder him on-camera in Cuba, numerous attempts at homicide or suicide, etc. etc. My basic rule for realism in this game is that if it's something you'd see on TV and roll your eyes at, like much of Vince Russo's material or virtually all of XPW's angles during its brief existence, then it's not going to be allowed. It's one thing to have the rich, snobby character pay another member of the roster to beat their opponent down pre-match so that they can either win by forfeit or have a much easier chance at victory, but it's something else entirely when they pay to have their opponent tortured and murdered. If you wouldn't see it on Raw or SmackDown or Impact, or if you have and it made you groan and feel embarassed to be watching the show, then it's not going to go over here. This also means, though, that your character cannot be a 7-foot tall, 500-pound monster that can do a beautiful Shooting Star Press and snap off a picture-perfect Dragonrana at a moment's notice. Again, realism is key. If you want to have your character be a high-flyer then modify their stats (height and weight) accordingly, and the same goes for if you want your character to be a powerhouse.
4} Other Promotions
FLW exists in the same universe as the Pioneer Wrestling Association, Rebel Pro Wrestling, SHOOT Project, and all promotions affiliated with them. There is no WWE, no TNA, no Ring of Honor, no All Japan, no New Japan, etc. If they exist in real life then they do not exist in this game. Why? As one fedhead I saw once put it, "if they exist then why can't we sign them once they become a free agent?" This rings true for FLW and the United Forces Tournament: since we only accept original characters then we are creating our own universe and rejecting the one we see in every day life as far as active, and legendary, professional wrestlers are concerned. Clever comments and remarks in regards to real-world wrestlers are allowed, but blunt phrasings such as "I've beaten Kurt Angle and Hulk Hogan and Triple H" are not allowed as they do nothing but reflect poorly upon your creativity.
6} Shows/Results
FLW, being an independent league, does not have the funding to produce a brand new event each and every week in kayfabe. The reasoning for this is to cutdown on any OOC stress that may come about from having to finalize x many matches for results each and every week and to promote a more laid-back atmosphere that will, hopefully, lead to better written matches and more well-crafted RPs. There will be one event every 2 weeks, with the immediate dry results, ie. "Wrestler A pinned Wrestler B in 15:40 and then they brawled after the match" and "Wrestler C/Wrestler D defeated Wrestler E/Wrestler F when C made F tap out in 12:31" posted the day after the card along with the next event's card. The following week is when the full results for that event are posted (one week before the second card is to go up), and so on.
